This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you hold over your data. This policy applies to all users of baanhi.com and any associated services.

By using the Baanhi platform, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Account & Identity Data Name, email address, company name, designation, and country. Collected when you register as a buyer, submit an inquiry, or contact the trade desk.

Inquiry & Transaction Data Product interests, order quantities, destination countries, sourcing timelines, and communication history related to your sourcing inquiries and orders.

Usage Data Pages visited, time spent on the platform, search queries, and interaction patterns. Collected automatically via cookies and analytics tools to improve platform performance.

Communication Data Messages, emails, and enquiries sent to our trade desk. Retained for service continuity and dispute resolution purposes.

Device & Technical Data IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system. Collected automatically when you access the platform.

We do not collect sensitive personal data including financial account details, government identification numbers, biometric data, or health information.

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

Platform Operations: To process sourcing inquiries, issue Pro Forma Invoices, manage order fulfilment, and communicate order status updates.

Account Management: To maintain your buyer or partner account, authenticate your identity, and provide access to platform features.

Trade Communications: To respond to inquiries, send feasibility reviews, share product information, and provide order updates.

Platform Improvement: To analyse usage patterns, identify technical issues, and improve the Baanhi platform experience.

Legal & Compliance: To comply with applicable Indian law, export regulations, and tax obligations. To retain records as required by law.

Security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access to the platform.

We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing communications without your explicit consent. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

We share your personal data only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating the platform, including Firebase (Google) for authentication and database services, freight and logistics partners for shipment coordination, and payment processing partners. All service providers are bound by data processing agreements.

Legal Requirements: Where required by applicable law, court order, or regulatory authority. Baanhi will notify you of such disclosure where legally permitted to do so.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Baanhi's business assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity subject to equivalent privacy protections.

Artisan Coordination: Limited order details (product specifications, quantities, timelines) are shared with relevant artisan cluster coordinators solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order. No contact details are shared with artisans.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for commercial purposes unrelated to your order.

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable law.

Active Accounts: Data is retained for the duration of your account registration plus a reasonable period thereafter.

Transaction Records: Order and payment records are retained for a minimum of 7 years in compliance with Indian accounting and tax law requirements.

Inquiry Data: Sourcing inquiries that do not result in an order are retained for 2 years for reference and dispute resolution purposes.

Communications: Trade desk correspondence is retained for 3 years.

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to legal retention obligations. See Section 07 for your rights.

Baanhi uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform and improve your experience.

Essential Cookies: Required for platform functionality including authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled without affecting platform usability.

Analytics Cookies: Used to understand how visitors use the platform. We use privacy-respecting analytics tools. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to browse the catalog or submit inquiries.

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or third-party retargeting purposes.

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights over your personal data:

Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

Measures include: encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), Firebase Authentication for secure account access, role-based access controls limiting internal access to personal data, and regular security review of platform infrastructure.

Despite these measures, no data transmission over the internet or electronic storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and cannot accept liability for unauthorised access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Baanhi is incorporated and operates in India. Your personal data may be processed and stored on servers located in India and other countries where our service providers operate, including the United States (Google Firebase infrastructure).

Where data is transferred outside India, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures required under applicable data protection law.

By using the Baanhi platform, you consent to the transfer of your personal data to these jurisdictions.
